Every year I look forward to expanding my education by attending either a photography workshop or convention like WPPI. This year I decided to go outside of my “digital box” and embrace film at one of Jose Villa‘s workshops near his home in the Santa Ynez Valley. He usually conducts only 2 workshops a year, and this one sold out in 30 minutes. I was extremely fortunate to sign up on time. Jose Villa is strictly a natural light wedding photographer who is known for his organic style and use of film. Needless to say, I learned a lot! It was an amazing experience to collaborate with such talented professionals. My understanding of photography and the way I view the world from behind the lens has expanded considerably. Overture to a Viansa Wedding

The day was blanketed in a misty shade of grey and the rain threatened to make an appearance. Eventually the sun decided to play peek-a-boo behind the massive amount of clouds, as we all held are breathe and kept our hopes high in honor of celebrating Noah and Leigh without a drop of rain. This endearing wedding had a total of 40 friends and family in attendance, flown in from all over to commemorate their destination wedding in the stunning Napa Valley. It was perfect, and utterly sweet. I have never captured such a small wedding before, and I am in love beyond words. Noah and Leigh chose the Viansa Winery for this private and intimate event to take place, and it was the perfect venue to attend to their needs. I love working with Viansa, their team is astounding. *Next week, Noah and Leigh will be holding their large reception in their Texas hometown to celebrate with friends and family that couldn’t make it to their destination wedding. The traditional shot below will be framed and featured as their 400 guests arrive to honor Mr. and Mrs. Ingegneris.

Chad and Vanessa celebrated their wedding day just about a week ago at the rustic Old Sugar Mill located in Clarksburg, CA. This venue is unbelievably vintage, old, and pretty much falling apart at the seams. There were so many different textures for a photographer to simply fall in love with (as you can tell from the awesome wall featured behind them in this image.) I cannot wait to share more of the stunning images from their wedding. This is simply just a taste… I have some shots of Vanessa alone that are going to put chills down your spine.

Justin and Jenni were married only two weeks ago amidst the beautiful surroundings of their friends and family. They have been in Maui this past week, and I promised them a little sneak peek into the results of their wedding day… They are back now, so here it is (just for Jenni.) I hope you guys enjoy this small little glimpse into their stunning backyard wedding. Oh, I cannot wait to share the details with you guys.

Here is a little FABULOUS sneak peak at yesterday’s wedding at the Citizen Hotel in Sacramento. You have heard me say it before, and you will hear me say it again… Cassy and Kelly are the two cutest “rockabilly” couple I have ever met! Kelly is sooo in love with Miss Cassy that it simply just knocks my socks off You should see the way he looks at her, but then again, in a dress like this?!? I think every man in the world was checking out Cassy last night, from the moment we left the Citizen Hotel to the end of the evening. WHEW — G.O.R.E.G.E.O.U.S. to say the very least. Wait till I post more pictures in the future, the back of her dress will make you weak in the knees. “I guarantee it.”

Here is a lovely sneak peak at the new Mr. and Mrs. Anthony and Micah Vera It was a gorgeous event with tons of love, laughter and most of all… FAMILY! This big-fat-greek-wedding definitely lived up to it’s title! Married on October 10, 2009 (just a week ago) the event was held in Sacramento at the Tsakopolous Library Galleria. It was a really awesome venue, I especially loved the upstairs balcony, where the guests could look down on them from above. Weddings like this, just make me giddy about my job and about my life! Thank you to a most awesome couple… and congratulations on your love and new marriage! I hope you are both enjoying Europe.
