It seems as if it was only yesterday that they were tiny budding baby girls – swaddled tightly, with rosy peach cheeks and sweet smiles. Yet with a blink of the eye they have become my little blossoms, and just as quickly as spring hits us in Northern California, they simply bloomed overnight. Some of you may know that I was raised as an ‘only child’ for 16 years (so I tend to still call myself one by default) but technically I am not. My parents decided to bring more additions into our family as I was spreading my wings, growing up, and blossoming into a woman myself. The addition of Madison Justine (now 13 years old) was like warm honey to my soul. I never loved a little baby more… she was the answer to my dreams, and the longings of my heart. She is the sister that I always wanted. Then of course, the unforeseen future hit as quickly as little girls blossom into women… I had a daughter of my own (which many of you recognize from my blog). My perfect little Kassidy Anna Marie is almost 10 years old, and the love of my life. She has an infectious smile and a loud laugh that will melt any heart. I adore her, and never truly knew love until I held her in my arms. I want to celebrate these two little blossoms today who are both my ‘Sweet Valentines’ 365 days a year and whose love is always a constant in my life. I am grateful that .

Sweet little Isabella Jaelyn (such a beautiful name) is the new bundle of cuteness added to Matthew and Suzie Lopez’s growing family. She is such a little beauty, and honestly she is perfect. At only 7 days old she was knocking my socks off with the perfect little face, smile, hair, and skin tone. If she was mine, I would totally keep her. Even if she wasn’t mine… I would keep her. Watch out Lopez family! It was awesome getting the chance to hang out with Matthew and Suzie again (who are totally awesome and hilarious past clients of mine). We had a lot of laughs working with this little girl/infant session. I cannot wait to watch her grow, and maybe have the opportunity to capture more images as she grows up. All my best! XOXO

I am sure you have heard the nursery rhyme: ‘Snakes, snails, and puppy dog tails; that is what little boys are made of’ – but not this cute little snuggle bear. He is made of ONLY the best and the warmest things that God could have tucked into one person. I wanted to hug him and dress him up in funny little hats all day! Thankfully for me, Sarah is awesome and completely trusted me (with crazy bear beanies and owl hats) to make this photography session unique to her. Sarah and Evan, a past bride and groom, booked their infant session as soon as they heard the news of his arrival. It has been a complete honor getting to meet this little guy and help introduce him to the world.

Introducing sweet Addison

It was the perfect kind of day for a photography session when Mike and Shelby showed up at my door with their sweet bundle-of-pinkness in arms. There was a slight breeze with a touch of fall kissing the air. Yes, the weather was perfect for an engagement session, but not so perfect for a newborn session. I had hopes of going outdoors and getting some sunset shots of this cutie pie, but it was a little bit too chilly and I didn’t want to risk being the cause of sniffles. So instead, we played it safe indoors and (ahhhhhh) I finally got to hold Miss Addison Lyn – with her stinky poopey bootie cuteness (she still smelled perfect, just like a BABY!) She is absolutely amazing in every way. Watching the look on Mike’s face as he stared at his new baby girl, would make any woman’s heart melt. There is nothing better than a daddy in love with daughter. It is one of the most precious sights to behold. And, yes the session continued into the next day (Addison was being a stinker and wouldn’t fall asleep) where I got to spend extra time with Shelby. She is such a wonderful mother. So calm, and peaceful, and patient with her daughter. She cooed to her, and whispered those ‘sweet nothings’ as she lulled her Addison to sleep. Nothing like a mommy’s touch to get the job done. Thank you so much Mike and Shelby… for sharing your daughter with me and the rest of the world, and for coming back for round 2 the next day. I look forward to watching her grow.

Look at that sweet little smile she was giving me (above image). She is already working the camera, you better watch out daddy. She is going to knock em’ dead one day (kinda like your gorgeous wife!)

A Styled Family Portrait Session

It is always so wonderful making a new friend… don’t you agree? Especially when the friend shares many of the same loves and passions you do. I’ve known about Cindy and her photography work from ‘good-ol-trusty’ FACEBOOK, but it wasn’t until I received a phone call – and scheduled her family session – that I finally got to meet her face to face. Cindy is one of the sweetest women I have ever met, and I am touched by her kindness and gracious personality. She is constantly giving to others, bubbling over with laughter, and blessing families with her photography. I am honored and privileged, that I get to freeze moments in time, and capture tiny pieces of love. I hope that you enjoy these images of The Ruffner Family. I don’t shoot many family sessions a year, and these guys wanted to snag a piece of the pie. Thanks again Cindy!

It was one of those days…. (if you are married, or in a serious relationship, you know the days I am talking about) the ones filled with arguments, frustrations, or simply just getting underneath each others skin. It sometimes seems that the more your stuck in the house, the more mistakes are made and wrong words are said. So after a few arguments, and a few days of fighting, our resolution was to GET OUT and go to the beach. I needed to feel the wind in my hair, and stare out at some open space. I wanted to watch my daughter play in the waves, and get sand glued to her toes. Lucky for us, we are just a hop-skip-and-a-jump away from one of the most fabulous locations in the world, San Francisco’s Baker Beach. So we packed our blankets (because the beach is freezing here in Northern California,) grabbed our big puppy dog, and bolted out the door to watch the sunset and take a moment to breathe……

A Styled Family Portrait Session

I think I’ve been swept away by the magic and beauty of Spring Everything around me is blooming, and if it is not sprinkling light droplets of rain, the sun is shining brightly (almost happily) down upon the world. Everything seems perfect and blessed. It has inspired me to create more, style sets, and put a sense of freedom into my images. This sweet family session has been working around in my brain for months, and it has finally come into fruition… I love so many things about it, but mostly I love working with this family. These two girls were giddy with excitement over the idea of having a tea party with cuddly bears… and cupcakes {featured by Christine @ THE CAKE SHOPPE}. It was so fun playing pretend, and getting to eat the cutest custom designed cupcakes as a reward after the session.
