“Marry me, today and every day…” – as those words poured out of the radio (in the car just 10 minutes after their session) I was immediately covered in a blanket of goose bumps. How could this moment be any more perfect? I had never heard this song before, and the lyrics just captured my heart completely. I felt they were being sung for me, and even more than that, they were being sung for Steven and Stacie who I had just spent the last two glorious hours with. This was my very first ‘vow renewal’ ceremony. It was soooo beautiful. Intimate. Quiet. Sweet. And isn’t that the core of it all? Just the two of them alone, saying ‘Marry me, again and again. Today and everyday.” This moment driving home, song blaring around me, was one of those moments that seem heavenly and spiritual. It completely solidified why I do what I do. Why I work so hard to get the shot, and then edit for days on end. It is why I am in love with couples and their sweet simple commitment. Steven and Stacie, congratulations on your 10 year commitment to one another, Thank you for choosing me to be one of the only witnesses to your love this October. I hope to meet the both of you again for your 20 year vow renewal. God Bless.

A unique ‘Save the Date’ Session

Hailey has been a sweet friend of mine since 8th grade. No one in the whole world makes me laugh harder than she does, to the point of screaming mercy at the fear of accidentally wetting my pants (no joke!) So when she called me with the exciting news about her surprise engagement to handsome Joe – I didn’t even let her leave room to ask me. “I am your wedding photographer, period, because basically there is no other!” And so, the wedding planning has begun. If you know me, you already guessed it, I have thrown about a million cute ideas at her – from flowers to tea cups – but now just comes the point of attempting to execute everything. I am so excited!

So this unique Save-the-Date session had Joe’s ‘little guy’ included. He added his sweet smiles and cute dimples to every picture (not to mention those two missing bottom teeth). He was a great little model. Stay tuned for Joe and Hailey’s official engagement session later this year (coming soon to a blog near you…) Until then I hope you enjoyed this cute mini sesh.

A Styled Engagement Session

From the moment Vanessa walked into my office, I could see her bubbling over with excitement as she told me all about her wedding day. The more she talked, the closer I came to understanding that I could have full reign with a styled engagement session. YAHOO! She was completely open to all of my ideas… and understood my vision. Pier 39 Engagement Session

As I was finishing the last few pictures from this engagement session, I couldn’t help but feel so incredibly overwhelmed by God’s love. Not only am I blessed beyond measure to be a wedding photographer, but I get to be sooo intimate with each couple that I meet. They literally invite me into their stories and let me watch their love unfold, as they get more comfortable in front of me and my camera. I know I have said all of this before, but it is why I do what I do. I LOVE love! Cassy and Kelly are the sweetest most lovable couple! This Engagement Session at Pier 39 in San Francisco was filled with tons and tons of laughter, and sweet joy. We even had people coming up to us on the Pier to try and get in the pictures with them… HAHA! I normally don’t take my clients somewhere so public to be watched as a “side-show” but I couldn’t resist the opportunity for some fun color, plus Cassy loved the idea of a carousel!

A Fun Little Engagement Session

… Soon to be BIG-FAT-GREEK-WEDDING!!!!! HA-LEH-LUH-YEAH! I am soooo excited to be the wedding photographer at this wedding, I can hardly contain myself…! I have watched “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” about a million times, to the point where I say “OPA” all the time! I think I am greek. It is just like the father says in the movie, “There are 2 kinds of people Tula, those who are greek, and those who wish they was greek.” Well, its true, its true… especially after spending a little bit more time with Micah and Anthony here in downtown Napa Valley shooting their engagement session. In fact, it is pretty much like I am part of their extended family, (not really) but we did ALL attend the same high school. Unfortunately not at the same time (they are both 6 or 7 years my junior) but we are still Justin Sienna alumni together. Actually most all of Micah’s family has attended Justin Sienna in Napa. The reason why this is so exciting is because my high school is a private school, located in the Napa Valley, and has a graduating class about the size of an ant. It is rare to meet someone who went to this school, let alone 2 people who were high school sweet hearts and have made it all the way to the alter!Â As you can see, Micah and Anthony are the bestest of friends. We had a blast hanging out together in downtown Napa! Looking forward to the wedding coming up on October 10 in Sacramento at Tsakopolus Library!

Fred and Leslie : an engagement session

Fred Hoover and Leslie Martin and getting “hitched” locally here in our hometown of Vacaville, October 17, 2009. These two were a lot of fun to stomp around with in Calistoga, Napa Valley for the evening! (I must say that I have some wonderful and amazing clients…) I had them hiking through fields of sticky weeds, in vineyards, jumping over ditches, and hanging on for dear life in the car, while speeding down Silverado Trail in Napa, trying to beat the sunset. (Is there nothing I wont do for a great location? From Napa to San Francisco I don’t know…) Â But I think they turned out fun, colorful, and romantic. I love engagement photographs. Thanks you guys for a great time! Looking forward to more fun times coming up in Vacaville.

Nick and Jenn : an Engagement session

Sometimes I just don’t know what I love more. . . Engagement shoots are the very best! It is such a beautiful and relaxing time to get to know the couple. These two are another awesome couple, full of energy, talkative, and willing to get the shot. They understood my photographer eye and They loved every spot I chose out in downtown Benicia (from random doorways and standing next to garbage cans). They even decided to climb down some huge rocks to get near the edge of the shoreline, without any hesitation. I love it! Looking forward to their wedding coming up on August 21 at the Jefferson Street Mansion, Benicia. YAY!!

Anny and Joe : An engagement session

JOE and ANNY… I love this couple! In fact, they made me fall in love with them and their love. I have not seen so much romance and affection in years. They both live locally here in the Bay Area, near Tilden Park. If you travel through Tilden Park, near Berkley, you will find so many beautiful locations. I mean, just LOOK at this small sample of their stunning sunset engagement photographs. Among one of these locations here at Tilden Park, is the infamous Brazilian Room! Once part of the 1939 Golden Gate Exposition on Treasure Island, the Brazilian Room was presented as a gift to the East Bay Regional Park District by the country of Brazil. Even though Joe and Anny have chosen a different venue, Rockefeller Lodge, for their wedding coming up in June, we still decided to enjoy the beauty surrounding us at Tilden Park and the Brazilian Room was just one of the many sites. As a wedding photographer I highly come and recommend walking around the lush grounds of this park, even on a weekend with the family.
