Sweet little Isabella Jaelyn (such a beautiful name) is the new bundle of cuteness added to Matthew and Suzie Lopez’s growing family. She is such a little beauty, and honestly she is perfect. At only 7 days old she was knocking my socks off with the perfect little face, smile, hair, and skin tone. If she was mine, I would totally keep her. Even if she wasn’t mine… I would keep her. Watch out Lopez family! It was awesome getting the chance to hang out with Matthew and Suzie again (who are totally awesome and hilarious past clients of mine). We had a lot of laughs working with this little girl/infant session. I cannot wait to watch her grow, and maybe have the opportunity to capture more images as she grows up. All my best! XOXO

Snakes. snails. puppy dog tails

I am sure you have heard the nursery rhyme: ‘Snakes, snails, and puppy dog tails; that is what little boys are made of’ – but not this cute little snuggle bear. He is made of ONLY the best and the warmest things that God could have tucked into one person. I wanted to hug him and dress him up in funny little hats all day! Thankfully for me, Sarah is awesome and completely trusted me (with crazy bear beanies and owl hats) to make this photography session unique to her. Sarah and Evan, a past bride and groom, booked their infant session as soon as they heard the news of his arrival. It has been a complete honor getting to meet this little guy and help introduce him to the world.

A unique ‘Save the Date’ Session

Hailey has been a sweet friend of mine since 8th grade. No one in the whole world makes me laugh harder than she does, to the point of screaming mercy at the fear of accidentally wetting my pants (no joke!) So when she called me with the exciting news about her surprise engagement to handsome Joe – I didn’t even let her leave room to ask me. “I am your wedding photographer, period, because basically there is no other!” And so, the wedding planning has begun. If you know me, you already guessed it, I have thrown about a million cute ideas at her – from flowers to tea cups – but now just comes the point of attempting to execute everything. I am so excited!

So this unique Save-the-Date session had Joe’s ‘little guy’ included. He added his sweet smiles and cute dimples to every picture (not to mention those two missing bottom teeth). He was a great little model. Stay tuned for Joe and Hailey’s official engagement session later this year (coming soon to a blog near you…) Until then I hope you enjoyed this cute mini sesh.

Introducing sweet Addison

It was the perfect kind of day for a photography session when Mike and Shelby showed up at my door with their sweet bundle-of-pinkness in arms. There was a slight breeze with a touch of fall kissing the air. Yes, the weather was perfect for an engagement session, but not so perfect for a newborn session. I had hopes of going outdoors and getting some sunset shots of this cutie pie, but it was a little bit too chilly and I didn’t want to risk being the cause of sniffles. So instead, we played it safe indoors and (ahhhhhh) I finally got to hold Miss Addison Lyn – with her stinky poopey bootie cuteness (she still smelled perfect, just like a BABY!) She is absolutely amazing in every way. Watching the look on Mike’s face as he stared at his new baby girl, would make any woman’s heart melt. There is nothing better than a daddy in love with daughter. It is one of the most precious sights to behold. And, yes the session continued into the next day (Addison was being a stinker and wouldn’t fall asleep) where I got to spend extra time with Shelby. She is such a wonderful mother. So calm, and peaceful, and patient with her daughter. She cooed to her, and whispered those ’sweet nothings’ as she lulled her Addison to sleep. Nothing like a mommy’s touch to get the job done. Thank you so much Mike and Shelby… for sharing your daughter with me and the rest of the world, and for coming back for round 2 the next day. I look forward to watching her grow.

Look at that sweet little smile she was giving me (above image). She is already working the camera, you better watch out daddy. She is going to knock em’ dead one day (kinda like your gorgeous wife!)

A Styled Family Portrait Session

I think I’ve been swept away by the magic and beauty of Spring Everything around me is blooming, and if it is not sprinkling light droplets of rain, the sun is shining brightly (almost happily) down upon the world. Everything seems perfect and blessed. It has inspired me to create more, style sets, and put a sense of freedom into my images. This sweet family session has been working around in my brain for months, and it has finally come into fruition… I love so many things about it, but mostly I love working with this family. These two girls were giddy with excitement over the idea of having a tea party with cuddly bears… and cupcakes {featured by Christine @ THE CAKE SHOPPE}. It was so fun playing pretend, and getting to eat the cutest custom designed cupcakes as a reward after the session. It could be because I am a slacker, or maybe just because I forget to follow through, but it happens every year. My daughter comes running in the room around 7:00am waving her school photography slip in the air. “It’s school picture day mom! I’ve gotta get school pictures.” — sigh — You would think that by now Kassidy and I would have come to some sort of understanding that we are no longer in need of a LIFETOUCH 8×10 print. I sit down with her and find myself, once again, making the promise of a full photography session to make up for her school pictures. Well, I actually followed through with my promises this year…
